Home Sweet Home
by Wendy Silva
Sticky Walls, toys all over the floor.
No matter what I do nothing stays clean.
Dirty dishes, laundry piled high and bathrooms a sight better left unseen.
Screaming kids, dirty diapers and children following me everywhere.
Combing hair, finding socks that match.
Fixing toys, can be more than one can bear.
Then we have baths, PJ's to get on and stories to be read at the end of the day.
With kisses good night and sweet innocent faces of love, I wouldn't want it any other way.
Thank you God for my children.
Forgive me for complaining.
Change me!! Change my perspective.
Take away the anger and fill me with gentleness and kindness.

Take time to hear their prayers at night,
and cuddle them a little bit;
Tell them a story now and then,
and steal a little time to sit
And listen to their childish talk,
or take them for a little walk.
You do not know it now--but soon
They will be gone(the years are swift)
For life just marches on and on,
And heaven holds no sweeter gift
Than a small boy with tousled hair,
Who leaves his toys just anywhere.
A picnic can be such a treat,
With sand to play in clean and white,
When blue waves breaking on the shore
Are filled with wonder and delight
For children armed with tins and pails
And wooden boats with crooked sails.
Take time to laugh and sing and play,
To really cherish and enjoy
A little girl with flaxen curls,
and the small wonder of a boy;
They ask so little when they are small,
Just love and tenderness--that is all.

Thanks, Wendy, I needed that! Such a good reminder!
Yes, it was a good reminder. I am not having a 'good mommy' day...pray for me and I'll pray for you!
Yes, Wendy, that was a timely reminder for this mommy as well. I'll probably be back to read it again. =) Thanks for the comment you left on my blog....maybe we'll have to chat by phone. No, I don't have answers yet, but I haven't had much time to just sit and listen for them yet. I will check out the fly lady. I've thought about doing that before and just never have. Maybe today When all the cleaning is done and Arthur takes the kids out to play. Love you! I'm praying for your packing and move.
